Study at Kambaku Hospitality College

Student lodgings at Kambaku

Students accepted to the dual hospitality course may look forward to two years of learning and living on the Kambaku Reserve. The community of students and trainees support one another during the time of study.

Kambaku offers all students accommodation in the student lodgings at Otjikatiti, the village for co-workers alongside the Kambaku Safari Lodge. The lodgings consist of 10 double rooms situated around a communal kitchen and bathroom area.  Two apprentices share a room, each having a bed, a desk as well a clothes cupboard.

Rooms and meals are included in the study fees.

Board and lodging

Just like any lodge employee, the students of the KHC take their meals in the staff quarters. Three meals are served per day and are prepared in the lodge kitchen: Breakfast between 06:00 and 08:00, lunch between 11:30 and 13:00 as well as dinner from 18:00 to 19:00.  Meals are enjoyed with bottled water, juices or tea whereas coffee is served at breakfast.

Please take note that no special dishes can be prepared for vegans or vegetarians. Every meal does, however, provide sufficient choice for those on special diets.

Campus life

Kambaku’s shop on the premises is open daily for one or two hours and stocks basic products such as groceries, soft drinks and toiletries. Other shopping or banking can be done in Otjiwarongo. Trips are undertaken to town twice per week in the Transporter and staff may join in if there is space, at a cost of N$ 50 return.
