• Profound knowledge of F&B, Front Office, Housekeeping and Laundry Operations

Tour and Wildlife Guide

You are a hard-working nature lover and a qualified and experienced tour and nature guide who loves to pass on knowledge about Namibia, our culture and wildlife on multiple-day tours as well as games drive, nature walks and courses at Kambaku Wildlife Reserve. You are mentally stable and able to enjoy the isolation of the Namibian bush savannah. You are resilient and able to communicate with people from all walks of life. You organisational skills are outstanding and you love to communicate and travel with guests from all over the world always eager to perform and present our country and nature at its best!

Tasks 

• Guiding groups by foot and 4x4 in the bush savannah giving explanations about the animals and plants
• Preparing and accompanying activities for guests (e.g. bush breakfasts, sundowners, accompanying overnight stays in the Bush Camp)
• Looking after guests before and after wildlife activities, e.g. conversations at the lodge, at dinner-time, at the bar or fireplace
• Taking responsibility for tours throughout Namibia, including preparation of tours (knowledge about the cultural, historical and natural highlights alongside the routes), checking vehicle and itineraries (double-checking of programme, lodges), take over check-in and payment for guests at lodges and parks
• highly motivated to comfort our guests 24/7 on tour

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of professional experience as tour and wildlife guide in Namibia
• Languages: fluent English and German – French highly appreciated
• Driving license with PDP required

Horse Riding Guide

Tasks 

• Guiding groups with up to 6 guests of different riding abilities giving explanations about the animals and plants in English and German (if possible)
• Preparing and accompanying special riding activities for guests (e.g. bush breakfasts, sundowners, accompanying overnight stays in the Bush Camp)
• Looking after guests before and after wildlife activities, e.g. conversations at the lodge, at dinner-time, at the bar or fireplace
• Taking responsibility of the horse safari business, e.g. preparation work for safari rides like grooming and tackling up the horses
• Supporting Kambaku's Horse & Stable Management in taking care of our horses, taking part in the training (e.g. working with the horses in the school) as well as taking care of the equipment

Qualifications

• at least 1 year of professional experience, apprenticeship in horse riding, stable manager or similar qualifications. Certificates in guiding, instructing and training of horses and riders, riding instructor licence advantegous.
• Languages: English fluently, basic skills in German and French would be ideal
• Driving license

TRAINEE Riding Guide

You are a hard working person who loves nature and horses and is resilient and able to communicate with people from all walks of life. You are mentally stable and able to enjoy the isolation of the Namibian bush savannah. 

Tasks 

• Learning to guide groups with up to 6 riders in the bush savannah and giving explanations about the wildlife in English and German
• Learn how to take care and look after guests before and after safari rides, e.g. conversations, dinner
• Assisting and supporting the horse safari business, e.g. checking cross-country courses, tacking up horses for safari rides and riding lessons in the school
• Assisting the horse and stable management (taking care of the well-being of our 20 horses; learning to train horses and working horses in the school; taking care of and cleaning the equipment and the riding facilities, stables and yard)

Qualifications

• good horse care skills
• young and sporty
• enjoying riding, horses and experiencing nature
• Languages: English fluently, basic skills in German and French would be ideal 

 

This position is only available for Namibian citizens and permanent residence permit holders.


Kambaku Lodge is offering a student place to become a Riding Guide with practical training in the Lodge and theoretical units in the Kambaku Hospitality College. You enjoy free lodging in our student room as well as a trainee salary in Namibian Dollar.
